Sue Ashton

Sue is a very well accomplished, experienced college instructor, tutor and consultant. Since 2003, she has taught and tutored in many subjects, especially in math/statistics, SAT/ACT/ISEE/STAAR, GRE/GMAT and computer science, at Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M University, Richland College, El Centro College, Collin County Community College, South University, University of Phoenix, Northwood University, and many local private and public schools.

In addition to teaching and tutoring, Sue has held various leadership positions in data analytics, product management, marketing, software development and engineering in technology fields across multiple industries. Sue specializes in taking new technology products from concepts to market. In addition, She held a U.S. patent in wireless network frequency planning.

Growing up, Sue competed and won numerous top prizes in math competitions, and was eventually selected as one of China’s top 20 in mathematics during high school while studying at Beijing Math Olympiad School. Sue is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese. She earned her MBA and Master’s degree with advanced Ph.D. level courses in Computational and Applied Mathematics at Southern Methodist University, and her Bachelor’s degree with High Honors at The University of Texas at Austin.


Laurie Pessetto

Laurie Pessetto is an all-around tutor with 23 years of experience supporting students in private and institutional settings.  She is skilled at finding study strategies and learning approaches tailored to individual needs.  Literature, writing, reading, editing, and English phonetics and pronunciation are specific areas of expertise, in addition to early math and science.

Laurie’s degree is in Humanities with an emphasis in Comparative Literature from BYU-Utah.  In addition to educational experience, Laurie has extensive non-profit experience ranging from event and financial planning to grant-writing and board administration. She speaks some Danish.
